Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a school-wide approach to help students develop positive behaviors. PBIS is based on the idea that students are motivated to do the right thing if they are celebrated for good behavior.

How does PBIS work? 

• Schools identify and post expectations for behavior in different settings (see chart below)
• Schools teach these expectations to all students
• Schools recognize students who meet the expectations
• Schools use data to guide decision making
